Traveller's Diarrhoea

Traveller’s diarrhoea is usually defined as the passage of at least three unformed stools in a day, and at least one of abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever and blood or mucus in the stools. Traveller’s diarrhoea is common and can be the source of distress and inconvenience, but it rarely requires hospitalization and is almost never life-threatening in otherwise healthy people. The risk of severe disease and complications increases in young children, the elderly or those with chronic medical disorders such as diabetes or heart disease, conditions associated with immune deficiency, and in pregnancy
