  • Is the most common internal cancer affecting both men and women
  • Almost as many women die of bowel cancer as breast cancer
  • Rates of the disease in young people have increased 64 per cent in the past 15 years - This is more than five times the increase seen in overall age groups
  • Only one in four Australians are aware of the deadly impact of the disease
  • Awareness is so important as the disease is preventable and curable if detected early
